Vendor Neutral Archive
A Vendor Neutral Archive or Multi-PACS Archive can be so much more than a simple storage manager. It can be a valuable asset to your ongoing operations.
Expectations are high and responsibilities are broad for a Vendor Neutral Archive (VNA) implementation. As they should be.
With a VNA solution from ScImage, greater possibilities emerge. With flexible architecture implementations, a built-in workflow engine and native multi-department PACS visualization tools, our PicomEnterprise platform offers one of the most complete VNA solutions available today.
- Accepts DICOM or non-DICOM objects.
- Intelligent pre-fetching and auto-routing of data based on orders input from your resident HIS or Practice Management System.
- Maintains integrity of public and private DICOM tags.
- Can act as a complete backup PACS for any or all of your specialty departmental systems.
- Provides a zero-install, zero-latency universal viewing tool for management and distribution of all PACS content to your EMR; dynamic or static images, document objects, even EKG's.
- Can be configured to provide QA notifications via email to department administrators.
This is by no means a complete function set for a VNA. For information about your specific requirements, please contact ScImage directly.
To maintain the efficiency of your departmental PACS in delivering images and related objects to local users, our PicomEnterprise system, configured as a Vendor Neutral Archive, can accept inbound HL7 orders in order to pre-fetch relevant prior data and auto-route the prior content to the host PACS.
Since all of the prior data is now housed in the VNA, this level of workflow intelligence is required to maintain the data delivery performance your PACS users were accustom to.
When configured properly, ScImage’s PicomEnterprise can act as a complete backup PACS in the event of local PACS failure – for any or all of your departments. It’s not just an archive; it’s an Enterprise PACS system on its own.
To accommodate the proliferation of PACS data distribution through EMR portals, ScImage engineered PicomWeb™.
PicomWeb is a zero-install, zero-latency universal viewing tool for management and distribution of all PACS content to your EMR; dynamic or static images, document objects, even EKG's.
This flexible platform is compatible with any operating system or browser that supports Flash technology. PicomWeb is even optimized for operation in smart phones and other similar devices.
Basic tools are provided for window / level and magnification of static image content. Cine mode is available for dynamic images such as cath and echo.
And for anywhere visual interpretation of ECG waveforms, PicomWeb renders raw ECG waveforms with the added ability to modify the gain and speed (time-base) presentation.
