DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING ASSOCIATES SELECTS SCIMAGE PACS TO READ FOR 41 FACILITIES

Los Altos, CA – July 25, 2005 — ScImage, a leading Enterprise PACS, and information management company based in Los Altos, California, announced today that the radiology physician group, Diagnostic Imaging Associates (DIA) of Tulsa, Oklahoma has selected ScImage’s Enterprise-wide PACS solution PICOMEnterprise.

DIA is currently using the ScImage PACS solution to read more than 18,000 exams per month. The solution is also seamlessly integrated with DIA’s custom Radiology Information System. Thanks in part to OneNet, the Oklahoma state-led partnership among telecommunications companies, equipment manufacturer’s, and service providers, Diagnostic Imaging Associates currently reads for 41 different facilities around the state of Oklahoma. This amounts to more than 210,000 exams read annually by several radiologists located in seven different locations all utilizing one system.

In addition to providing teleradiology services to a number of state run hospitals and private practice facilities, DIA also provides residency for as many as a dozen residents in training. Among these facilities are Springer Clinic, Cancer Treatment Centers of America, and many of the public health hospitals in Oklahoma. Dr. Dean Fullingim, a long time supporter of telemedicine and advocate of the benefits that can be derived from centralized reading environments, states, “Many of our residents live in rural areas, telemedicine gives these folks access to the same quality of care that their urban counterparts receive.”

“We are proud to be a part of such an ambitious digital imaging initiative,” stated Sai P. Raya, Founder and CEO of ScImage. “DIA and the state of Oklahoma are on the leading edge of telemedicine in the United States and we are thrilled to that our products can play a part in assisting DIA achieve their overall workflow goals while improving patient care.”
