ALTON MEMORIAL HOSPITAL SELECTS SCIMAGE’S ENTERPRISE PACS SOLUTION FOR MULTIPHASE DIGITAL IMAGING INITIATIVE
Los Altos, CA and Alton, IL – August 20, 2004 — ScImage, a leading provider of image and information management and distribution solutions and medical imaging workstations, based in Los Altos, California, announced today that Alton Memorial Hospital has purchased ScImage’s Enterprise PACS solution, PICOMEnterprise for their enterprise digital imaging initiative.
The hospital intends to implement the project in multiple phases, beginning with cardiac catheterization imaging, echocardiograph reporting and EKG management for cardiology services. “We selected ScImage for this project due to their experience in providing portable access to point-of-care features for cardiology reading along with management of the rest of the Alton Memorial Hospital’s data intensive clinical needs”, said Al Hibbett, Manager of Cardiology Services for Alton Memorial Hospital.
Phase two, which will begin during the next several months, will connect all modalities in the hospital’s medical imaging department and integrate with the existing radiology information system. This will provide Conflict Resolution, DICOM Modality Worklist and Web Image and Information distribution and archiving. Phase three of the project will move the facility to a completely filmless/paperless digital operation and provide electronic access to referring physicians.
Once the project is complete, ScImage’s Enterprise PACS will grant Alton Memorial Hospital caregivers a single point of access for patients’ studies generated in both the medical imaging and cardiology departments.
