BJC HEALTHCARE BARNES-JEWISH ST. PETERS CAMPUS SELECTS SCIMAGE’S ENTERPRISE PACS SOLUTION AS PART OF DIGITAL IMAGING INITIATIVE
Los Altos, CA and St. Louis, MO – April 26, 2004 — ScImage, a leading provider of image and information management and distribution solutions and medical imaging workstations based in Los Altos, California, announced today that the BJC Healthcare facility, Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital has purchased ScImage’s Enterprise PACS offering, PICOMEnterprise. PICOMEnterprise is an integrated medical imaging information management solution that will provide the facility with image and document management for radiology and cardiology imaging studies performed at Barnes St. Peters Hospital.
PICOMEnterprise will provide seamless integration of image acquisition, diagnostic review, short term storage, reporting and web based distribution utilizing a single application platform. Additionally, physicians in both departments, as well as, over 700 referring physicians throughout the facility and community will have immediate access to the images and information being captured by ScImage’s Enterprise PACS. “We are pleased that BJC Healthcare has chosen ScImage’s Enterprise PACS solution to address their institution’s needs for medical image and information management,” stated Sai P. Furthermore, ScImage will assist the institution in creating a complete digital workflow to provide seamless interfaces between the facility’s radiology information system, hospital information system and PICOMEnterprise.
“We selected ScImage because we knew that they could meet our requirements for integration,” states Paul Farris, BJC’s RIS Coordinator for their IDX system. “Given the nature of PACS today, we needed a product that could seamlessly integrate with our current digital tools. In addition to addressing the institution’s goals for integration, the solution also provides robust features for Radiologists using the system. Dr. William Dawson, Medical Director of Radiology at St. Peter’s Hospital, states “We see tremendous potential for savings in time using the system.
