How we got to where we are.

Founded in 1993 by Sai Raya, Ph.D., ScImage is a privately held, employee owned company providing state of the art enterprise imaging solutions to the healthcare industry.

In a business segment rife with vendor consolidation, ScImage remains an independent bastion of imagination and ingenuity, proudly embracing and delivering new technologies to the healthcare imaging community.

When companies merge, their customers often get short-changed. In the nearly two decade history of ScImage, we are proud of our track record in that no customer has ever been abandoned by a “sunsetted” product, nor has any customer ever required a “forklift” upgrade. We as a company, wouldn’t have it any other way.

ScImage knowingly and purposely chose the difficult path to growth. Often, externally financed operations become motivated by unsustainable hyper-growth, driven by external shareholders. Conversely, ScImage has grown organically. All operations are internally financed, with no external debt. ScImage stands independent, strong and viable.

In support of our commitment to providing advanced imaging and informatics technologies in healthcare, ScImage continues to invest over 35 % of income in product research and development.

Our History
Born from an intriguing concept, a degree of technical acumen and a sense of adventure.

Our image engineering acumen initially sent ScImage on divergent paths: Our first product released in 1993 provided qualitative and quantitative assessment for Coronary Calcium Scoring. This “NetraMD” Workstation was private labeled and resold by Electron Beam and traditional CT vendors alike.

In 1995, simple advances in storage technologies led ScImage into a new realm for healthcare: Digital Angiography as a replacement for cine film ubiquitous in cath labs. Our initial venture into cardiology PACS was sold by a major cardiology company and was known as AngioComm.

In the year 2000, ScImage quickly embraced web standards, creating the first web-technology based, multi-department PACS, while simultaneously launching what would become the industry’s first Cloud PACS – PicomOnline.

Today, ScImage is specifically focused on providing extraordinary, cutting edge products for enterprise imaging and reporting in healthcare; with particular expertise in radiology, cardiology, obstetrics, pathology and other healthcare related 'ologies.
